I'm not feeling very emotionally well lately. I am currently unemployed, I'm feeling like a failure for almost being in my forties yet not having been in even one relationship my entire life.
I feel like I'm in a dead end, and I don't know how I'm supposed to fight my way out of it. I have an inconsistent work record that I'm afraid is really hurting any job prospects too.
I just feel trapped and don't know what to do.......
@ADudeFromNowhere My only decent 2¢ is that there are tons of places hiring. Go out there & find one that just sounds interesting, and be that ideal employee so they give you good references. Your prospects can only improve w/that hard work & dedication. On your free time, find a Bible group made up of people your age. Make friends & do adventurous things w/them. We all go through phases of entrapment. The key is to make that lemonade, do something different, and look up, not down. Have faith.🙏🏻🙏🏻
Here is a fact... we humans often compare our lives to other people... thinking that other people have it all together and are doing great... not knowing, however, that almost everyone is incomplete, imperfect, and suffering in one way or another...
And we always think the other guy is doing better.
Even people who are successful on the outside have loads and loads of terrible burden... *reasons* to hate their life...
But they will never show it.
I believe God put us on this earth to journey forward in an evolutionary process... sometimes our lives can feel like utter shit... other times... we know we are on the right track.
Please know you are not alone. You are in one phase of your life but that can change in an instant as you change your thinking.
I agree with @3SEAS... keep the faith... try new things... soak your mind in spiritual ideas and thoughts and the situation in your life may change for the better... you may see yourself on a better path.
Certainly you are like all the rest of us... we are all bumbling along.
You are not alone.
God bless you... 🙏 💗
@ADudeFromNowhere wow! I’m so sorry you feel that way. You engage regularly here and we all enjoy the interaction. Just shows that we don’t know what goes on behind our screens. I’m sure there is a job out there for you. Keep trying and if you get one that’s not great do it but keep looking. I know others who have not had what they think is supposed to be a relationship your age but found one eventually. God put you here for a reason. We don’t always know what that is. >>>>
@ADudeFromNowhere I know this may sound simplistic and trite but I know there’s something out there for you. I don’t know what else to say except you have a place here with us and are valued and part of the FA family. There are better days ahead for you.
