In addition to all of the corruption and waste that must be dealt with to turn the ship of state around from a permanent war footing, the economy itself must be turned.
War was and is hugely profitable. Ordinary business contracts are in the hundreds of billions even before you get to the layers of corruption.
This is where Trump will really shine.

Now, having demonstrated his intent to possess the mightiest military on earth, and having demonstrated his willingness to use such power boldly, effectively, and morally, I predict he’s going to swiftly turn to deal making.
The two primary goals of Trump’s political career are peace and prosperity.

Iran will be offered a path to both. Watch the economies of Congo and Rwanda surge after their peace agreement. And so on.
American companies will be fully integrated into these deals, delivering prosperity and security as they function.
Put simply, Trump is going to make peace MUCH more profitable than war.
Simple and revolutionary.
