Well, the one thing that I have proved beyond a doubt is that I am competent. Which is exactly why not promoting me was always subjective horseshit.

I am in almost the exact kind of situation with my new agency. On this team I am having the almost exact opposite experience. My work is being reviewed by my new manager and she's very helpful. In fact, all the "mistakes" I've made have been at the direction of the senior auditor. She's not dinging me for that.

Its illuminating.

This is huge: Because of not being promoted timely, I have lost opportunity to apply for other jobs at a higher level (and pay!) and I've lost over 35K in income by having a promotion that I earned, be denied me for 2 years now.

Not to mention that it was professionally humiliating.

I wouldn't be able to ask to be recompensed, if this claim hadn't been accepted.

So, I'm grateful. Now, the investigation will begin. I hope that I will be restored.

Let's wait and see what happens.

Update on my EEO complaint:

My original complaint was accepted, but not all the points that I filed. Some were accepted only as background information, since they helped determine whether the other accepted points were indeed illegal EEO violations.

My claim that I was not promoted, even with a fully successful performance evaluation, was originally accepted as background only. The Civil Rights office stated that I hadn't filed a complaint timely.

I am glad I read their answer carefully.
