I would agree, BUT these "challengers" help keep Trump's name in the news. Everyone keeps comparing them to Trump, suggesting they'll take Trump out, etc. It is the best way for him to stay in the news without having to do a lot himself.
In the end, it is another way to show what a clown show the media is, and how terrible the RNC is.
