Here's a dour comment for you...
The mayor won't need 'the Food Police' if rumors/indicators about the financial world crashing is correct, because then most of the population will go through such hard times that there will automatically be a reduction of food consumed and the people on average will lose weight because of it.
Remember Venezuela?
Of course, what his Food Police might really be is to enforce food rationing because of an economic collapse.
