I've had several black cats, and tuxedos.
Add to the list that black cats absorb light when you try to take a photo of them, they're kind of like a black hole! A flash is needed.
Moonpie, after finding the catnip...
@fuzzi Catnip heaven. i love it So true about getting their pictures. all i ever seem to get are black holes also. Rarely i can get them when the light is just right and i even get to see their face
All of ours are black at this point we had a mix of ,calico, Maine Coon and others. all mutts and rescues . They are the best . Love them all
@nanook @fuzzi You sound like us, Ferals, barn cats , rescue and Veterinary rejects that we took care of and at home that survived. Had 13 at one time when we lived in an old farm house. Loved it now we are down to 6 through attrition. Love every one they are our children and they know it. I feel i am just "Cat Staff"
Stoner Moonpie just passed, age 20. I currently only have 2 cats: Boots, a feral tux, and Deborah, a born-feral-now-spoiled-indoor-cat, and she's also my first Calico.
My avatar is Momma Cat, a feral who had two litters under our shed before we could trap her. Her last offspring, Mittsie, passed last year, age 14.
I've had black and tuxedos, 2 Siamese (no papers), plus gray and yellow tabbies.
@fuzzi @nanook love it .Cats always have a way of naming themselves, either appearance, behavior what ever . We don't name ours right away we kinda let them name themselves. Here's "Max" and he is a Max 18 lbs of pure lovable mush. He thinks hes a wild Panther but hes gotten the nickname "Chickenboo"...afraid of his own shadow.
@nanook @fuzzi You are special , Boots allowing you hold her/him is a statement. That and that your cats lived so long. I truly believe that cats live longer when they feel loved. We've been blessed with several like that and i am so honored they were in our lives. Such joy. I also the strays rescues and "Mutts" as i call them are the best . their temperament is so loving and greatful. it's the best.
@fuzzi @nanook so sad the loss it tears me up every time. takes a apert of your heart every loss. That's why i don't think we will be getting any more after these pass. it's just so hard. They 've brought so much joy to us and even know i cant imagine our world without them they are all spoiled rotten and are always reminding us who's boss. This is Alley cat )after her brain surgery) she's 6 lbs and runs the house like a General. Such Cattitude.
