I wonder how much progress the #fediverse could have and grow in quality if the @EUCommission could seriously fund good non-profit projects that already make an interoperable web possible: @Mastodon , @pixelfed , @pleroma , @peertube , @gotosocial etc.

There are talks about BILLIONS of euros to rearm Europe, which seems justified to me. But it seems that no one puts on the table how to seriously address the problem of disinformation campaigns that undermine democracies. I found the EU project EU vs Disinfo euvsdisinfo.eu/, but they didn't dare to create at least a profile here.

Let's perpetuate the cycle of walled gardens run by cool tech bros and their profit seeking businesses. It is very comfortable.

@EUCommission No doubt there are problems in investments this big. There are needs elsewhere. And AI is very problematic. Energy, real benefits?, possible AI takeover?

BUT China and US are massively investing in AI.

With AI one can launch such cyber attacks that other can counter only with AI.

Therefore - EU must also invest in AI.

Or else "they" will conquer us too.

Human level AGI is coming in 2026. Now AI is 15-30% of human. Next year 2026 it will be 100% of human. And probably some 300% in 2027.

If not EU AI then US or Chinese...

Humans can compete with AI same way humans can compete against F1 cars.

When cars came people thought they would never be as good as horses.

Do u still ride to work? With a horse?

A particularly pleasant and possible prospect that has been floating in NATO's offices- and they really hate it - is that #Russia will accept the #ceasefire.
And for that to happen, #US is ready to offer land and water.
Like, say, the withdrawal of all #USA military forces from #Poland.
Or even from #Romania?
Maybe from all of Eastern Europe?
No one can say for sure, but in any case it is a nightmare scenario for the #NATO and #EU warmongers.

Let's check the graph a bit.
At the end of last year, the hawks of @EUCommission tried to push for €1 trillion. Then we had the massage of EU leaders and the "most realistic" of 500 billion. After that, with tons of #propaganda and false claims about dangers around, they came out with an actual plan of €820 billion (when for so many years #EU has a plan of #austerity...) and announced orders... This is how the stock prices of war industries moved and finally (for now) soared.

PS.The European war industry is not ready to deliver this amount of war products, so the states will buy promises of deliverance.
