Facebook finally deactivated! Not just ignored, deactivated! Twitter's next. I'll probably spend some time tomorrow parsing my archive, filtering my follow list and turning it into an addition to my links page.
It's kind of silly that the first links on my links page are derived from the social network exodus, but I'll expand and curate it more once I've reclaimed my sweet time from the hellsites.

Dear Twitter refugees,
Stop deleting your "bird" accounts. Twitter isn't going anywhere. Most of you will not last here on the fedi. What is the fedi you ask? There thousands of servers running independently of each other that are FEDERATED. THIS IS WHY YOU WON'T BE BANNING ANYONE. So stop trying to cook up some lame scheme that isn't going to work. Now I didn't say block. I said ban. You can block. Also go fuck yourselves. That is all.

Mm. Dear self appointed Fedi defense league,
My account is years old, and is on an instance maintained by a community I respect and am grateful for. One of our aims is to master our own time/resources/Internet presence, so our relationships with social networks are a relevant topic of discussion.
I am not here to recreate my experience on other platforms. I am a platform skeptic.
Please don't proselytize to me about how to use this, another platform.
