The swearing in of LBJ in the air after the JFK assn was theater. There was no need to do that. He was president before JFK was room temperature.
There may be some slightly different opinions, but there was never a time after the death of JFK that the US was without a president. Unlike the present.
I presume you are going to expand on this and please do because I am looking forward to it.
No, I just farted that out, but the premise was we do not have a president currently. I read Caro many years ago, and learned what I wanted to, but scoundrels in govt are not new.
There is nothing that anyone can say about LBJ that I would not exclude to believe. I don't personally care about the SOB enough to research any further, especially since alive criminals are still in the process.
Well he did have the good sense to not run for reelection, what with the country burning down in the summer of '68. At least that is what it looks like on the outside.
Now I'm not so sure, with everything we are learning. It may be that his time on stage was just up and THEY just tossed him out into the ditch.
Nixon should have not gone willingly. His legacy would be better of he had said, "come get me."
I wonder if they named the FBI SCIF at Perkins Coie the Watergate Room?
This would have been Halderman's, Liddy's, and Hunt's dream to have this kind of access.
I really don't see much difference between the two. One just codified it into law with plausible deniability.
Sure we do! I saw video of him carrying his own bags not two days ago! /s
@bbhack Boy you’re right about that!
