Just saw part of a commercial during a 7 p.m. Food Network broadcast which showed...
* A gay guy in a thong dancing on a stripper pole
* A 400-lb black woman in a swimsuit
* A pair of lesbians making out on a beach
And that was just 20 seconds.
It was an ad for Fitbit.
@waronmorons Here's one for ya:
@CDuBois @waronmorons It's very sad. What thought do you think she had that told her she was a boy? There is a family that used to come to our church where the oldest daughter came out as "trans" when she was about 19. Megan(Alex) is about 28 now. When Megan was in elementary school she liked dinosaurs. She thought there was something wrong with her because that was a "boy" thing. I'm sure there was more to her thinking she was trans but that was one thing her mother pointed to.
@CDuBois @waronmorons When Megan was in her early 20's she had her breasts removed & was on the hormone treatments.(I know she was always self concious because she very large breasts even as a young girl. Her mother talked often about reduction therapy. Megan now lives as Alex but has a boyfriend.
@CDuBois @waronmorons I think some people who think they're trans are just re enforcing old sterotypes. I would ask someone what is it that you want to do as the opposite sex that you think you can't do as your biological sex? I don't know- maybe that's a too simplistic way to look at it.
@pamby1 @CDuBois @waronmorons Uh, win at sports? or see lots of boobies in the locker room? have sex with a man without being considered gay?
@Phil @CDuBois @waronmorons Lol. I see your point. Like I said, I guess it was a simplistic way of looking at it.
@pamby1 @CDuBois @waronmorons I see it like this. Reality and order emanate from God. He placed us in this ordered reality and gave clear guidance, as to how to be happy and thrive in it. But people are rebellious and rebellion against God, ultimately expresses itself in rebellion against reality. We are here.
@Phil @CDuBois @waronmorons That is a perfect explanation & exactly right.
@gloriaoils @CDuBois @waronmorons He was but I didn't know him as well as I knew the rest of the family. I do know that he was opposed to all of the trans stuff. The parents are divorced now & were before all of this started. None of them come to our church anymore by their choice. I tried to support the mom as best as I could- she eventually accepted what her daughter was doing since she couldn't stop it. But then she went in the other direction, even attending pride parades etc.
@gloriaoils @CDuBois @waronmorons The mom was genuinely afraid of her daughter's suicide risk so she went along with everything. What a terrible position to be in!
So the parents were divorced before any of this started with the girl?
Fear does a number on those controlled by it. It's really sad. There are so many people who are hurting in this world. One reason is that there is so little truth being told in this world.
We are to speak the truth in love. How much truth is spoken with fear instead of true, godly, love?
This story makes me feel so sad for all those caught in lies. So very sad.
@CDuBois @waronmorons *reduction surgery
I'm reminded of the little boy who said he wanted to be a girl. Thankfully, his parents took him to a legit therapist, who discovered that his older sister, who was handicapped, got all the attention. He thought being a girl would get him attention too.
I truly believe that there is in every confused child's life a trigger, or series of triggers.
The failure is on the adults who don't "get to the bottom" of the dysphoria.
And girls can be paleontologists too!!
@CDuBois @waronmorons Lol. Exactly! Instead you've got PSA's normalizing this behavior & issues are never addressed. It's insane.
@CDuBois the Gen Z kids (and a lot of the millennials) have become so conditioned to diagnosing themselves with all sorts of nonsensical made-up disorders. They're obsessed with it. I don't recommend wasting a second of your life on TikTok, but from what I've seen, 9 out of 10 videos are of over-medicated adult children rambling on about how they're bineuroatypical emotiopaths and how you need to be more tolerant of their disability.
It's pathetic.
@waronmorons
Kids are pretty impressionable. Even in college, it was hard for me to not relate to some of the "disorders" that we talked about - in an intro psych class. Thankfully, that was many years ago, and I DID NOT go into that field! My daughter, OTOH, had a friend who was going for his degree so he could deal with his messed up family. He's still messed up (and now my daughter sees it, but she still hasn't matured past it all yet and still sees therapy as a good thing). @CDuBois @pamby1
@gloriaoils if they would stop diagnosing themselves with personality disorders and instead recognize that they're talking about aspects of their personalities that make them human, unique and special, maybe they'd contribute something rather than sucking the life out of everything. @CDuBois @pamby1
@pamby1 I saw a Twitter thread from a mom in Austin the other day and her 10-year-old daughter was told by her school that she was a lesbian and trans (don't bother making sense of it) because "she liked frogs".
What that school didn't tell the poor girl is what a lesbian actually is. She thought lesbians like boys and get married to men. And they definitely didn't tell her all the gruesome details of the hormone therapies and surgeries they were recommending for her.
@waronmorons @CDuBois If I was her mother I would be livid! Wth happened to the teaching profession?!?
@waronmorons Just sickening
What in the actual hell ... ?!
I would be on the phone with an attorney were I the mother of this little girl.
