The purpose statement at the end of the book of John declares that the book was written to show people how to have eternal life so if you are not following what the everlasting life verses in John say you could be headed for eternity in the lake of fire.

Because I consider myself to be the recipient of the free gift of everlasting life based on my belief in the following scripture verses in the AKJV, I am certain that when I die I will go to heaven.
Those verses are John 6:47, John 3:16-18, Acts 16:31, Romans 6:23, Romans 4:5, and Titus 3:5.
You have not believed on Him for everlasting life unless you have believed that He has given you everlasting life based on your belief in His promise to do so.
