On Dec 16th of 1944, the Germans kicked off Operation Watch on the Rhine, which the Americans called the Battle of the Bulge. This last desperate offensive by the German army would bleed them of between 80,000-100,000 men. In this episode, we're exploring a lesser known cemetery in the border city of Daleiden that serves as the final resting place for a handful of those men.

"The German war cemetaries are so haunting. They have a visual heaviness that Allied cemetaries don't. Thank you for showing them to us, and for showing the German fallen with dignity. "
