Did anyone with #FreeBSD and a #Framework 16" laptop get the "consumer control" buttons (fn+Fx for volume, brightness, etc.) to work at all? I see there's a /dev/input/event6 but I can't get it to see any events at all. The only thing the Fn key lets me do is turn arrow keys into pgup/pgdn etc.

Works nicely on my Framework 13, so this is a 16-specific issue..

Попался мне в руки Framework 13 (Ryzen 5 7640U). Делюсь впечатлениями:
Рамка дисплея крепится на магниты. Клавиатуро-тачпадовая панель крепится на магниты с опциональными пятью винтиками. Корпус забавный, но гнётся при открывании-закрывании крышки если винтики не закрутить. Говорят что есть детектор открытия корпуса, но я не проверял.
Хардверный выключатель камеры отключает её от USB. Есть также выключатель микрофона. Выключателя радио нет и не нужен. Клавиатура уёбищная, но это и на фото видно.

В idle кушает аж 9Вт, из которых 6Вт проц, наверное надо чего-нибудь потюнить. С другой стороны, туда вставлены две плашки DDR5-5600 по 32ГБ каждая, так что на рекордно низкое потребление я не рассчитываю.

Чёт икеевский 45Вт USB PD БП не вытягивает проц работающий на ~30Вт, аккум при этом разряжается понемногу. Непонятно в чём дело, в hwmon его не видать, нужно походу читать исходники EC в надежде выяснить что приходит от блока питания // они как бы доступны, но в репе какой-то треш, сходу не вижу где там для моей материнки они: github.com/FrameworkComputer/E

Немножко бенчмарков:
Без прогрева full disk encryption отлично ебашит:

После двухминутного прогрева оценил steady state системы охлаждения процессора: 29Вт при dT 54 градуса. Это где-то процентов на 70 больше чем у Thinkpad X201, притом что тоньше и шумит меньше. Походу по умолчанию он упирается в какой-то температурный/мощностной лимит, температура выше 80 не поднимается (глядел на самую большую температуру в sensors, пока что так и не понял что каждая из них обозначает на самом деле), при этом шесть ядер работают на 4,4ГГц где-то.

Могу чего-нибудь ещё интересного потестить пока он у меня.

I’m trying out a dbrand laptop skin to dress up my Framework 13. I have mixed feelings because I do like the bare aluminum look too, so we’ll see how I feel after a few weeks.
