ACLU attorney Chase Strangio recently admitted that "gender-affirming care" doesn't actually reduce the rate of completed suicides, despite widespread fearmongering that it does. Leor Sapir (@LeorSapir) has done great work highlighting this issue.

Pediatric Gender Medicine and the Moral Panic Over Suicide
Hyperbolic rhetoric about suicide rates may do more to increase suicide than prevent it.

"In a recent exchange between Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) and Berkeley Law professor Khiara Bridges on the ramifications of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, Hawley wanted to know whether the Court’s decision affected women as a class. After initially informing Hawley that not all “cis women” have the “capacity for pregnancy” while some “trans men” and “non-binary” people do, Bridges appeared caught between her loyalties to gender identity ideology and to the long-held idea that abortion is a women’s issue. And so rather than clarify her position, Bridges berated Hawley for his “transphobic” line of questioning, insisting that he and those like him are the reason why “one in five” transgender people attempt suicide.
The affirm-or-suicide mantra has become the central strategy of contemporary transgender activism, and at times it would seem that activists have little else in their rhetorical arsenal. Federal courts have used it to impose new policies on schools under Title IX. When Florida passed the Parental Rights in Education Act—a law that limits classroom discussion of gender identity and sexual orientation to “age appropriate” circumstances and that requires schools to notify parents when their children are being “socially transitioned” to the opposite gender—Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg agreed with his husband Chasten that it would “kill kids.” Florida’s law was in response to, among other things, books like Gender Queer: A Memoir, which contains graphic depictions of oral sex, appearing on school library shelves. The book’s “non-binary” author, Maia Kobabe, countered that her book’s presence in libraries was “life-saving.”
A few weeks later, transgender Assistant Secretary for Health and Human Services Rachel Levine used the same word to justify the federal government’s support for “gender affirming” interventions. Neither Levine nor President Biden, who has given his own imprimatur to the controversial practice, seemed to care much that Europe’s most progressive welfare states have been moving in the opposite direction, placing strict limitations on the use of puberty blockers to treat adolescents in distress presumably because of their “gender.” Scandinavians are not indifferent to teen suicide. Rather, they have examined the evidence behind the affirm-or-suicide claim and have found it wanting.
Despite the unwaveringly confident manner in which these claims are often asserted, there is no good evidence that failing to “affirm” minors in their “gender identity” will increase the likelihood of them committing suicide. As I discuss below, that claim is based on a small handful of deeply flawed studies that, at most, find loose correlations between “affirming” interventions and improved mental health. Some find no reduction of suicide at all, and a new study claims to find that puberty blockers actually increase the risk of suicide.
Not only is the empirical basis for the affirm-or-suicide mantra shoddy at best, but its dissemination is also profoundly irresponsible. Such extreme rhetoric limits our ability to better understand and respond to mental health problems in vulnerable youth, and may itself contribute to the real and documented phenomenon of “suicide contagion.”

CHASE STRANGIO: SHILLING FOR CHILD MUTILATION ON THE WORLD STAGE

"The reason why they want to get them so young is because the kids will never have any idea about what they lost."

"You've taken away their proper bone mineralization.
You've taken away their psychological stability.
You've taken away brain development.
You've taken away IQ points.
"Puberty blockers have been shown to cause cognitive stunting.
You may have induced a conition called pseudotumor ceribri where the kids develop neurological symptoms that mimic brain tumors. "

"Chase Strangio’s central argument before the Supreme Court is also what they call in law school “dumb as shit.”

She is arguing that if it is legal to give a medical treatment such as testosterone to a male patient, then it must be legal to give it to a female patient as a treatment for gender dysphoria, or else it is sex discrimination.

The FDA approves drugs for various purposes after they are tested and studied and deemed safe and effective. No medications have been tested and approved by the FDA as treatments for gender dysphoria.

Puberty blockers and cross sex hormones have not been studied or deemed effective as transgender treatments. All transgender medicine is off-label use of drugs that have been approved for other purposes.

There is no constitutional right to take whatever drugs you want. We regulate drugs very heavily! Drugs are approved for narrow therapeutic purposes, and using them outside those purposes is often illegal.

It is legal for artificial testosterone to be prescribed to a man who has a medical disorder that impacts his hormone production, but it is illegal to provide artificial testosterone to people who produce normal hormones and want steroids.

It is obvious that doctors do not have a constitutional right to provide and patients do not have a constitutional right to take drugs which are not proven therapeutically effective and which have not been approved for the use they are being prescribed.

Prescribing off-label puberty blockers to kids who are supposedly dysphoric is closely analogous to the pill-mill doctors who gave OxyContin to everyone who said they had aches. It is clear that medical malpractice can be regulated by the state.

Strangio and the opponents of the Tennessee law are presenting very weak and unpersuasive arguments. People who find their arguments dumb are not misinformed or uneducated. They are correct.

The one defense I will make of KBJ is that she is likely not making these points because she is dumb. She knows the points are weak, but it’s the best she’s got, because she is taking the side she knows is wrong on the law and on the facts for ideological reasons."

Drid T make Chase Strangio, real name Kate Bacharach crazy?

"Wow.

Read this and tell me this is not a form of psychosis.

I call it Trans-Type Psychosis (TTPsy).

Drug-induced psychosis is a well known phenomenon. Cocaine, LSD, speed, ecstasy, meth.

Why not then synthetic hormones?

I propose that Kate Bacharach is talking such incredible nonsense because she has TTPsy, which has been triggered by huge doses of exogenous testosterone. And by the time the facial hair comes in neurobiological functioning and architecture is significantly compromised.

I bet my bottom dollar that MRI imaging would show atrophy in her pre-frontal cortex (responsible for reasoning and planning) and abnormal growth in her amygdala (responsible for controlling emotions).

Kate can still be a lawyer. She can still get up in the mornings and do the necessary self-care to present as ‘normal’ (at least partly).

She can still carry out all the activities of daily living.

Not everyone with a psychotic belief is debilitated, unkempt, violent and unable to function.

She can still do all this and yet be quite, quite, mad.

Nobody should be listening to a word Kate Bacharach is saying. Much less the Supreme Court of the USA!

(I also think her frequent references to death are quite telling. She knows she is killing herself. She probably feels like total shit all of the time. But she’s committed. She cannot bring herself to commit apostasy. But she’s ‘leaking’ her true feelings all over the place)."
