Currently patches on Bug285139 / D49245 for updating #nvidia GPU driver 570.124.04 on #FreeBSD cannot apply as graphics/drm-[515|61|66]-kmod, that their distfiles are required for corresponding graphics/nvidia-drm-[515|61|66]-kmod, are updated.
As drm-510-kmod is not yet updated (not sure it's not needed or not), I'm pending to upload upated patches.
And the reason of update (preparing for flip of debug.link_elf_leak_locals from 1 to 0) doesn't seem to affect x11/nvidia-driver and at least graphics/nvidia-drm-61-kmod on stable/14, amd64 that already has the tunable.

NVIDIA still refuses open sourcing drivers - Red Hat has been developing open NOVA -driver for the Linux kernel 
NVIDIA drivers on Linux here is a co-op scenario:
◉Userland: Vulkan / OpenGL handling (these drivers wished be opened)
◉Kernel side: framebuffer / computations (these are open now)
NVK (Vulkan) is also progressing (part of Mesa) - eventually replacing Nouveau (the original open solution for NVIDIA).

I just found out that the NVIDIA driver on Linux simply cannot utilise the system RAM when your GPU is running out of VRAM. Allocations will simply fail.
That fucking sucks.
Windows is apparently remarkably good at managing video memory, so many games simply rely on that and don't take into account how much VRAM is used or available.
Seems like AMD's drivers (Mesa) can deal with this, but I'm not sure.
