I love the sound of jackhammers in the morning. My eyesore patio is finally getting replaced.
Will we get to see before and after photos?
Thanks. Neat... I can't wait to see the new one in a week or so.
Looks like y'all have a pretty dog.
@BGrilln365247 Very nice! It looks great, and Fall is coming for some cool days and nights to sit outside. @SweetIceTea @Bleukitty
@Java @SweetIceTea @Bleukitty Now I'll have to be vigilant to keep to keep the oak leaves off the patio.
@BGrilln365247 Yep. We always have something coming down from trees around here, all kinds of seeds. If you get a fire pit, make sure the patio will stay clean. You're going to have fun. @SweetIceTea @Bleukitty

We got half a maple tree on ours in a storm a couple of days ago.
Sad when a good, old tree gets damaged in a storm.
Even sadder when the good, old tree does damage to your home or vehicles as it comes down in a storm.
@SweetIceTea @Java @BGrilln365247 @Bleukitty
Thankfully it didn't fall toward the house, just parallel. And thankfully it wasn't the maple in the front yard that guards my bedroom/office windows.
That's wonderful that it didn't hit the house but went parallel to it.
Trees can scare you to death in a storm, but they offer such character to a home and yard.

We have a giant old (for a Mimosa) tree outside the back door here, that fills up with butterflies when the flowers are in bloom.
@DianaSez One of my mom's favorites. @SweetIceTea @BGrilln365247 @Bleukitty

Mine too. I love Mimosas and Dogwoods. But my favorites are Oaks, Maples, and Black Walnuts. They feel to me like wise old spirits. Redwoods feel strange to me, they are the most long-lived, but they don't feel friendly to humans like Oaks do to me. Redwoods feel to me like some wild animal that just wishes you would go away.
How do do do do is that?
I don't consider that weird at all.
That's my kind of normal.
@SweetIceTea @Java @BGrilln365247 @Bleukitty
That's great to hear. When I succumb to the temptation to be vulnerable and real on social media I am always braced for the likely negative responses. I know what I say is often not what the average person considers "normal" but it is always things that have been proven true to me over many years and that I hope will resonate with at least someone..
@DianaSez I know exactly how you feel. Now I just expect it. It doesn't bother me. It is what it is. Sometimes there's some redeeming value in a negative comment, but 99.99% there's not, lol. @SweetIceTea @BGrilln365247 @Bleukitty
@Java @SweetIceTea @BGrilln365247 @Bleukitty
I don't care anywhere else, but I have to admit that I do care on Free Atlantis, because y'all are the bulk of my social life these days.
I'm always afraid I'm going to post something with a dry sense of humor, but that the humor won't come through to the person reading it.

I'm with you, I really enjoy the people here at FA.
@SweetIceTea @DianaSez @Java @BGrilln365247
We get it...
@SweetIceTea Really? People will get it! Just throw it out there. Use emojis to indicate a joke. It's okay if some don't get it, and I doubt there's any judgement. People just move on to the next thing. There are things over my head. I just ignore it. @DianaSez @BGrilln365247 @Bleukitty

Different people enjoy different types of humor, and a few sad souls don't seem to have a sense of humor at all. My dad and I liked sarcasm, puns, and dry humor, mom didn't much. Dad and I would be cracking each other up and she'd just look at us like we were strange.
@DianaSez Lol. My dad was like that. @SweetIceTea @BGrilln365247 @Bleukitty
My mom has a super dry sense of humor. As the matter of fact, I think I didn't fully realized or understood her humor until I met my husband and began to understand his humor.
But even so, she and my dad have different senses of humor. Daddy will have us cracking up and Mama will look on as if she sees absolutely no humor in it, as if it's too beneath her.
