Madison and Nashville School Shooters Appear to Have Crossed Paths in Online Extremist Communities

A month after a student opened fire at Abundant Life Christian School, another killed a classmate at Antioch High School. Both were active in an internet subculture that glorifies mass shooters and encourages young people to commit attacks.

The #Madison police chief, Shon F. Barnes, identified the 15-yr-old shooter as Natalie Rupnow, who went by the name Samantha. “She was a student at the school & evidence suggests that she died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound,” Barnes said.

Barnes said officers went to the school after a 2nd grade student called 911 just before 11AM to report a shooting. “I want to let that soak in for a minute” he said.
