For #thicktrunktuesday, here is Quiver Tree Forest. It's unusual as it has grown spontaneously. The tallest quiver trees are two to three centuries old. The forest was declared a national monument of #Namibia in 1995.
Visited the beautiful country in 2019. (I'm losing track if I've posted this before )
#ManuMacsHateAccount. Mot dièses préférés : #Mosstodon et #ThickTrunkTuesday.
I love a visit to some temperate rain forest. Even in winter, the mosses, lichens, and tree ferns make it a predominantly green environment. Nationally, it's a very rare and precious type of ecosystem, but we are lucky to have quite a lot of it around the fringes of Dartmoor.
"An Old Friend"
This gnarled, resilient oak feels like an old companion. I captured this photo before my illness and can’t wait to revisit it soon. It’s in a woodland I explored as a child, not far from my parents’ home—a place filled with happy memories.
How old is it? Perhaps 500 years or more. Do you have a favourite tree or natural place you’d love to revisit?
Big 'ol maple with a really cool looking hollow for

The oak is always late coming into leaf, but when it does, and the leaves are fresh, and young, and bright green, it is one of the most beautiful trees in the forest.
