Oh yeah, my eyes got a little misty.
It reminded me of the first time I was thanked for my military service. It was Veteran's Day and my wife and I went out to eat. At the restaurant was a line of people to thank us and open the door for us. A little boy about 9 gave me a hand made card. First time I'd been thanked, a couple decades after I went back to civilian life. Choked me up a bit those folks were there for us.
That was so kind and respectful.
