1/2 #Canada will never alone in this world. The #EU and the whole #freeWorld will always help it, no matter what #DonaldTrump and the #USA say. There might be a time of turbulence, but the strong bond of our values remains. #Europe and Canada will work together in the name of #democracy and #ruleoflaw. The anti-western behaviour of the #US will not change. It is obvious that they will turn into an isolationistic period of their history again. This is why Europe must be one! #EuropeanArmy now!

Any injunction or contempt order that #BigHands, the white house, the executive branch or elon ignores means America IS an #authoritarian state. Right now.

If the rulings are unenforced, unenforceable, or ignored, it's a fascist state.

And it's been there already for a couple days this week.

Is someone tracking somewhere, all court rulings that have been partially or fully ignored since January 20?

"Why is eliminating DEI in the federal government so critical to Donald Trump (and to our Apartheid Nazi shadow president, Elon Musk)? Where is this coming from? And, more importantly, where is it going?"

Driving attacks on healthcare, aid organizations, education is this, Dan Rather reminds us:

"Cumulative far-right outrage over programs seen as helping and promoting people of color, women, the LGBTQ+ community, and immigrants, combined with the fear of straight white men losing status and power, has brought us to this crossroads."

"These actions do not make America stronger. They make us weaker. ...

The goals of eliminating departments and entire functions do not justify the means when the means are not in accordance with the law. Americans expect better. Even among those who want change, no one wants their neighbor or their family to be treated this way. Yet that is exactly what is happening."

The American Bar Association issues an unprecedented statement about the serious situation unfolding in the US:

"We have seen attempts at wholesale dismantling of departments and entities created by Congress without seeking the required congressional approval to change the law."

In Breaking USAID, the #Trump Administration May Have Broken the Law

"No president in history has unilaterally shuttered an agency formally enshrined in law — let alone deputized his wealthiest donor, Elon Musk, to carry out that task in his name with little oversight or accountability." #uspol #uspolitics #USAID #Democracy #RuleOfLaw #ElonMusk #DOGE

#Trump: "Respect our laws about borders while we pick and choose which of our own laws to respect re citizenship."

This is at the core of our cold civil war. Refusing to share a reality regarding what's true or which legal interpretation is proper. I don't know how you get out of that if you stop respecting the people who disagree with you enough to even treat their opinions as equal to yours. #RuleOfLaw #LiberalValues

Congress can remove #Trump. I can't say we're there yet but whatever your politics, it has to be weird to be in that body and be cool with a president demonstrating that he (and future presidents) don't need to follow the laws you pass. That he can just pass EOs and have his agencies act illegally, at least until courts strike it down. Do we know if he is then following those rulings? And he always has a mostly supportive SCOTUS and pardons to get out of any possible crimes committed. #RuleOfLaw

It seems like a ton of what #Trump and #DOGE are doing is illegal. Some of it is already being struck down. But in our system, what actually stops them from continuing to do it?

There is protection from the recent SCOTUS ruling about official actions being default legal. The president controls the enforcement mechanisms. He can pardon anyone for breaking federal laws. Congressional Republicans fear losing in a primary. Elon can pay any fines and fight endless legal battles. #RuleOfLaw #uspol

A president who doesn't respect the #RuleOfLaw re whether he won reelection or not, can't be trusted to follow the law "next time". This was my argument in the 2024 election. You might think he'd be better than Harris, but he has proven he should be off limits. And I was sure before the 2020 election that Dems were crazy that he wouldn't accept a loss.

He doesn't think he should have to follow our laws. How does somebody call themselves conservative and think that's ok?

Time · Can He Do That? What Legal Experts Say About Trump’s Most Radical MovesBy Nik Popli

You want, proof, that the United States is over?

Elon Musk is breaking the law and no one has issued an arrest warrant.

Donald Trump is violating the constitution, and no one has even tried to issue an article of impeachment.

All we have is lip service. Not even an effort.

$50 million is pocket change to the Nazi Oligarchs...

"The proposed legislation will impose fines of up to $50 million on banks, mobile networks and social media companies that fail to act on preventing scams. But the tech giants’ lobby group, DIGI, has claimed banks should be entirely responsible for refunding Australians who lose billions of dollars to fraudulent schemes every year."
